In Geometry, the computation of area requires the multiplicaiton of two dimenions. The class will
provide details of how to do that for different shapes. This computation frequently results in squares
of lengths, which results in the need to solve the Quadratic Equaiton, or to factor equations to
find the solution. Common factors and the difference of squares will allow students to solve many
Geometry problems.
This video may be used as a refresher for common factors:
One example of using common factors outside of Geometry is
the Ballistic Equation. Solving the Ballistic Equation requires solving quadratic equations. The Ballistic
Equation describes the motion of bullets, rockets, and cannonballs.
